alloy shit

i nearly put a set of titaniums on it when i built it, but as the alloy ones where brand new when the head was reconned i thought 'whats the worse that can happen...'

i nearly went full blown dr pepper!
Looking at the top of that valve stem it looks like it’s had a fair bit of hammer, I wonder if you are running those Windsor 1.5 ratio rockers and all the other geometry tweaks you have to do with the 8 port if you got spring crush and unfortunately the only thing that would let go that situation would be the spring cap

bores are shagged - i can only come to the conclusion is that they where worse than i though when i re rung it
Glad the smokey cat is out of the bag with mission 8 port at last :D

Does this mean you have the 'Arden talisman of misfortune' currently in your safe keeping for a while. :?:
Wanna see what I'm playing with? Youtube Channel
Caution ;) may contain 8 Ports, Xe's and VTec's, I don't do standard!

Talking of red kites there's a bit of bird action at the start of this video I did of the other runners at the Classic & Vintage. Also there is the amazing bit of lawn mowing by the Surtess TS8.

the valves are all brand new, i think its just oil that makes it look worse than it is, this engine has run hard for years with the windsors, they are all modded to suit an arden and the cradles are pinned to the head face, so they are always in the correct place, there was no coil bind or anything like that.

im hoping that it was just a poor top cap

In car of Adam's first timed run from the weekend.

Not the tidiest of runs, but you can't accuse him of not trying

Saw this strange car of the type that one of my customers has but i have never seen; its a Rochdale that he says looks like an E type . I can see what he means, just about....

Always nice to see a Napier but I have never noticed how basic the fuelling seems to be to each of the 3 rows of cylinders

I'm surprised that they have resurfaced mid-season, surely that is going to be a bit slippery for the next few meetings.

Apparently it sticks better in warmer weather & its a special "Motorsport mix" of tarmac, not your usual stuff. Should be sticky straight away.
