Who can move a heavy engine and box?
Does anybody have a suggestion of any firms that can collect an engine and gearbox from one UK address to another. It is on a pallet but I guess it will weigh approx 150kg. All the parcel firms seem to max out at 50kg. Cheers. Mark

Thanks Rich. Have submitted a quote request. Also for anyone else out there I have done the same with a company called Interparcel. I will post the outcome in 'recommended suppliers' as I expect this is something that forum users will find helpful.
Out of interest does anybody know roughly how much the following weigh:
Engine and gearbox with ancillaries
Gearbox
Block
Cylinder head
Driveshafts and disc assembly each
Rear Subframe complete
Front Subframe complete
Radius arms
I plan to post this as a reference for people who might need to ship or move items on e bay, mini forums etc as I for one cannot find a set of scales in Tesco that go up to 200kg.
Cheers

Have you tried the 'man with a van' type couriers?
Most couriers don't like engines etc because of potential fluids leaking.

Just spoken to a friend of mine, who lurks at the moment. He suggest the pallet movers, eg palletways etc. There was an engine on a pallet shipped from near him that way recently.
Cheers

Can recommend palletways. Our S engine including box strapped to pallet delivered regularly within 24 hours door to door from West Yorks to Mr Swift in the garden of England for £50.sclemow wrote:Just spoken to a friend of mine, who lurks at the moment.
