Will Grant

Post by Henry »

does anyone know Will Grant well enough to have his phone number? If so, someone should let him know his email has been compromised as I just got an email from him stating the following:

Hi, Am sorry to bother you with this problem, but i just arrived in Spain on an important trip. I am in a terrible situation where i was robbed of luggage and wallet in a cab on the way to the hotel. I need you to please loan me $3,000 which i will refund upon my return. I will really appreciate whatever amount you can help me with if not the whole amount, will be expecting your response as soon as possible.

Thanks

Will

Will phoned today , he is fine except for having been whipped with some kind of yellow striped
rubber hose.
He asked me to pass on this message.

I had the exact same e-mail except it was from a friend called Peter who lives over the road.

Seems Spain is a dangerous place to be right now!

I sent the funds straight away. I hope he's OK

I would like to apologise for any unsolicited emails....not much i could do other than choose a more secure password.....

If any of you are using a hotmail account, make sure your password is SECURE - i.e long, random letters / numbers, caps, etc....everyone says it, i had a random word with numbers as mine and they still got in, once it happens

a) total inconvenience, not to mention concern that someone will fall for the scam
b) how unsecure hotmail is - there is a list of peoples accounts that have been hacked, its HUGE - and how little help hotmail give you under these circumstance - none.

Gmail is supposed to be the most secure.....anyone have any other pointers for mail services that a scammer cannot worm their way into?

And also - i have signed up my account for a large number of daily biblical / religious / spiritually orientated newsletters - if anyone has a link to get huge no of emails sent that would get through the filter, i would like to totally swamp the account.
