In a shameless plug for the quality items I have , I am including a load of pics that I did for my bit in Mini mag but they never made it in print. I had a bit of a clear out at the end of last year and i am including the type I wrote with accompanying pics

Reality check
Having barns for storage it’s easy to keep stuff after its sell-by date, so I have been clearing out, which caused some reflection.
I had a pile of calipers that I was keeping which date back to when reconditioning them was the only practical solution and I scrapped them all (150 odd!).

I found bits that I have come across from other folk’s cars (not mine for a change) which I have kept from some sort of morbid curiosity; odd engine components from pistons to sump plugs

A fine collection of A series idler gears which used to die in a spectacular way - hooray for A+

My old Woody trailer at least got sold but for not much more than £100, but at least it’s gone to another fruitcake for aged stuff who might use it

more still....

Another thing I have had for years is a split-rim Dunlop D1 but not done using traditional methods

Accidents have provided a source on bent components too with steering and suspension stuff foremost.

And finally a technical question for something I cannot answer . Is this an A+ R gearbox or A+ +R gearbox. Cleared out someones garage at the weekend and found a new use for a gearbox
