I have been looking in to the problem of people having to find scrap minis to cut bulkheads from so that their cars will now comply with the appendix k / hscc rules about standard uncut bulkhead areas.
it will also help people with road cars who are worrying about the iva test problems.
after some serious to-ing and fro-ing with Heritage, they have agreed to start supplying the 'roto dip panel' which they make to convert later shells into mk3's. it was one of thos panels that they make, but have never advertised or marketed as a stand alone panel as they never thought that people would want it.
ive roughly drawn round the panel on the shell so it can be seen - it measures 51cm widest point - 23cm highest point (roughly)
the price isnt agreed yet, but will be roughly 30ish
it also has the advantage of been a genuine Heritage panel with a proper Heritage part number - so im sure that will help with various arguments that people are having with the various governing bodies!!!
i will probably have stock within the next two weeks

Rich,
If you can get them to supply the panels without the hole in the lower left corner - that would be a great bonus.
Most cars that need these panels will need a fire proof bulkhead and most like drill their ovn holes at in other locations.
Same goes for the brackets used to hold down the wire loom, washer-tubes and such..

its taken long enough to get them to supply it as it is!!!
unfortunatly its stamped out in one press, so the shape and any holes are fixed by the single operation the stamping machine does.
the problem with getting it with out the welded tags is that it then becomes a new part number, which means it then needs a whole load of paper work for pricing, planning, factoring etc etc, which is just not worth it from their (or mine!)point of view.
as it is it a standard production part, so all they have had to do is 'wake up' the internal part number for it and decide on a pricing structure so i can create a purchase order for it.
due to the way Heritage plan and factor items they are very unflexible with anything thats not a regular part, so credit must be given to them for finally been worn down by my constant nagging!! and deciding that its worth making enough to sell as a single entity
the way i see it is that its easier to weld a few redundant holes and make a few little extra bits than it is to try and hand craft the award shaped larger hole yourself!!

Presumably if you were really careful about how you finished and painted it you could get away with bonding one over the top of the Weber box allowing it to be removed in future if needed. If you could find a way to bolt it in and still look 'right' then you'd really be onto a winner.

HMP441017
these ones come unpainted, with no tags or nuts welded to them.
later versions will probably be coated and have the tags and stuff
price is tbc, but around £25
