My Turbocharged Mini

Post by theoneeyedlizard »

I hope this doesn't offend anyone as my Mini is far from a Mk1, but hopefully interesting enough.

I've been developing it over the last 5 years, making it quicker and more reliable along the way. I'm still struggling with the reliability bit if I'm honest, but it's certainly quicker now.

Some pics ...

And a quick vid of it running...

None for ages and then 2 turbo mini's pop up at once.

Looks a tidy car, must be a handful on the road :D

Fancy under piston oil cooling, I always (wrongly) assumed that the turbo block came with them as standard.

Thanks guys.

I saw Simons mk1 turbo here too. Very nice. Excited to see how it goes as his is very new.

I can't take the credit for fitting the cooling jets, these were done by a friend of mine. The clever sod!

It does have a few other fancy bits that help it make around 180 bhp on 17 pounds of boost. Yes it is a handful, and it desperately needs an LSD now.
