Whilst removing the battery to charge it up I committed the cardinal sin of poking at a bit of 'surface rust' in the engine bay, just to make sure it wasn't anything serious..... seems the TOP of a chassis leg has 'gone a bit lightweight' ...... but the bottom is fine??????
so, that's just the chassis leg to patch in the engine bay, a front panel, 2 complete front doorsteps, the sliding door bottom and a patch on an outer sill to be welded, plus the new engine cover and rear door to fit before the paint.Oh, and the gutters to tidy up, and the pop top could do with a bit of TLC.........
Maybe not going to happen this year then (unless I find a mad restorer who really wants a Lotus project rather than cash!)
