There's a very early 59 that lives in my village. Cherry red & a sort of dead ringer for my old racer.

I have seen it a couple of times & have tried to engage the very peculiar owner in conversation, with very little success.

Its a genuine little car & has obviously had a lot spent on its restoration, but certainly not done to my taste, all the character has been extracted, but the funniest thing is the guy reckons it's worth a fortune & he could hardly bring himself to talk to owners of plainly "inferior" minis like my poor self

Hello. Lovely little thing and seems to have most parts there and in remarkable condition as you say Ian. Its a fairly long story when explained but will post that when I put some pictures up. Basically the owner who is my mums friend from 15+ years ago was going past a car show we were at and talked to people about selling it, that evening my mum was on facebook which is very unusual and spoke to her and it came up in convo that she wanted to sell it. Mum told me and Ian and myself went down looked around the car and they accepted my offer! :D :D So I'v now ended up with a charming little Mk1 thats been stored for at least 22 years.
