It's the original engine back in it Niall, the one I used to win the Borders ;) , 998 Cooper +40 Graham Russell pistons, Kent 266 cam, Swiftune timing gears and oil pump, balanced, centre main strap, flowed and polished 295 head, 10.4:1 CR, standard valves, twin HS2 carbs, freeflow manifold. Sat on a Morris 1100 box, with Cooper gears, 3.7 diff, centre oil pick up etc. Goes well :D

i did have the engine for sale originally when I planned on building it into a stage car, then realty set in  Going to do some Tours in it, Knowldale Car Club do a Mini Miglia Tour. Jeff Smith who navigated in it, did 63 and 64 Mini Miglias in it, and wants to navigate so 8-) be rude not to.

I am also in the process of putting as many routes of events the car did onto old 1 inch maps so I wouldn't mind driving those, and me and the missus just having days out in it, oh and try and make Blyton in it at last!!

Steve just picked an old mini mag up from the garage to read tonight ( while the wife watches another episode of Bake off !!! ) in it is the story how you purchased OB , I love the bit when you began to rub the body down and found where the two cars had been joined and then discovered the passengers Smoke Grey door , brilliant just how stumbling on a bit of rallying history should be .
