2017 MCR Northumberland Borders Rally

Date for the diaries of folk into this kind of thing is Saturday the 18th of November. Normal format of tests followed by a run through the lanes after dark and this being the 10th anniversary of the event, we're endeavouring to make it the best ever. For those doing the HRCR Premier champ, it will also again be a qualifying round. Cheers all.

Just a quick note to say we had a successful recce of the first half of the rally route on Sunday and have 'booked' the majority of the test venues we intend using on the event. The next few weekends should also see the second half recce'd and the test layouts and timings identified. All this info. can then be run past the RLO before going on to the MSA as part of the route authorisation process. If you're not already aware from our Facebook page, we are now starting to recruit marshals so if you're keen to help out please do contact our Cheif Marshal, Kevin Rich via PM here or on FB. Regs-wise these will be out 1st September, by which time we also hope to have the new rally website up and running. That's all for now folks but more updates soon.

A £10 discount is also offered for those made before the 1st of October.

We hope some of you on here will be able to make it. With this being the tenth anniversary of the rally (time flies ), we've gone all out to put on a great event - loads of new things re the tests and and excellent flowing rallying roads on the evening leg. The rally will also again cater for all abilities, from those just starting out to the very top experts and not just in minis.

Just today left to take advantage of the early bird entry for the rally. A brief summary of what's on offer:

- fun afternoon of minimum of eight timed tests at a variety of venues on private land using mainly smooth tarmac and concrete surfaces
- evening leg of PnB rallying on just under 90 miles (60 for Novices) of classic, wonderful, traffic-free, flowing roads of Northumberland
- navigation to suit all abilities, e.g. Novices get copies of the OS map with the route and controls marked on them
- quality start and finish venues at Cramlington, just to the north of Newcastle and close to the A1M and other major road links
- rest halt after the tests where food will be available and the results from the first leg
- entries open to members of other MSA member clubs including those of the HRCR
- fees include a meal at the finish where accommodation will also be available
- round of the HRCR Premier Championship

Trailer parking at signing on/scrutineering venue Stephen. At owners risk but security guard on site plus cameras. Bit disappointed to hear that you're not getting into the spirit of the rally and driving the car up though
