I believe it got the vinyl roof at the same time as the front end conversion to hide the the damage to the roof panel so no reshell.

Also from memory doesn't WNX have external hinges?? Guess it must be the earlier shell.
Vinyl roof. Isn't it time they made a comeback....

Anyone notice that Will Sparrows later Minis looks deseamed,

That is, lacks water gutters from the roof, to help steamining.

Wonder if the 12" rally tyres worked as well.

I would say it looked to have ALL its seams.

Maybe the seam trim has been left off, or my eyes are failing me in my advanced age. But yes, agreed, not deseamed at all.

How about the 12" wheels and tyres?

Don't think anyone has picked up what I was trying to say - 12" tyres, they are development low profile rally tyres, way back in 1972, that didn't appear for you and me to buy.

Someone needs to ask Will Sparrow about them.

OK have not read this thread for a while , answers to some of the comments and questions .

1. The car still retains its original shell. Although very tired still has the metal brazed over the floor grommet holes , a detail mentioned in the original build covered in CCC in 1970.

2. Clubman front end was used when the car was rebuilt after being rolled on the Tour of Mull in 1970. The eight port engine and ancilliaries fit better into this front end.

3. Won the Welsh in 1970 as a round front car.

4. Shell restoration starts today.

5. Will has seen the car and confirmed its authenticity.

6. WNX was not a works car it was privately run by Will with various sponsorships.

The shell is now complete , here is a photo of the car ready for paint today. Its then off to have the Velvetex roof coating applied . Then hopefully have it liveried up in time for the Classic Car Show at the NEC in November , it should be on the MCR stand as a bare painted shell.

Loads of hours and £££££ to get it this far.

go to your photos, then select the photo you want, and press "edit" then select "compress" and press on "web page size"
thats the way I do it.
After that you can uploade them inhere, without problems.
