What was with the brown wheels on some of the works cars?

Was it primer or something?

Yup,

Chocolate brown primer.

I have seen a few wheels painted in that stuff.

Primer indeed - I had a couple in the loft myself. Should never have painted them!!!! :?

Vauxhall Brazil Brown is not too far off, spray it on from a distance to get a slightly dry/flat finish ;)
In the garage with tourettes!
