the worlds lowest mini sprint......

Post by guru_1071 »

nearly!

another couple of feet and it might have been!

if the long branch hadnt got hooked up in the gutter it would have done more damage to the bmw and would have just reached the roof of my mini and given it a slap - al its got is a few twig marks, nothing serious

most ironic thing is that a tree inspector had been out two hours before and condemmed this tree and another behind work.

i can now state with some authority that when a tree falls, it does indeed make a sound! - we all shat our pants when this landed on the roof

lad at work

its a really tidy car, sounds beautiful.

we had to chop all the branches away to get it out - bit hairy as the main tree was creaking and groaning!!!!

its survived very well, few dents and scratchs, but no broken glass

the roof of the minispares building on the other hand - its wrecked - we had to 'repair' the hole in the roof using a selection of grp bootlids, carpet sets and boxes of plastic wheel arches last night

the good news is that both the pet Robins survived, they came into work to be fed this morning!

The only difference being that they didn't need to use the door

the roofs a bit of a mess, fortunately the inner steel frame of the building stopped the weight of the tree (est at 15 tons by the guys who chopped it up) from going any further.

had it fallen another 15' to the left it would have been able to intrude as far as the level of the brickwork - which would have not been a good thing! - i would have had a very cheap selection of heritage panels for sale!!!

Perhaps this post should be headed 'Brown Pants' , it would fit alongside the other post 'brown wheels' quite well.

Bet that had the adrenalin going, lucky it did'nt fall on the tree inspector, that would have been a bit ironic.

Had somebody commented on the condition of the tree to get the inspector to look at it or did he look at it as part of his routine.

one of my customers has had a lucky tree escape.

he had come over from norway and was on his way to minispares when a tree blew over in front of him, he jammed the brakes on and 'just' slid into the tree - which blocked the road entirely.

the police where very reasonable, and told him that he could continue with his journey!

it made a bit of a mess of his car, we fitted some orange bulbs to the indicators to try and help him out!
