Hopefully! Had my head skmimmed this week and hopefully that'll cure it. The state of the block is another matter...

(Note to self : NEVER buy a used rebuilt engine off anyone, even if you know them and it's put together by a supposed reputable engine builder.)

Been there and done that.
It is very frustrating and gets expensive.
That's why I turned to Phil at Howley racing and never had a problem with any of the engines he built for me when I raced in historics.
R1 power now though in the Maguire, 160 bhp, 6 speed sequential gear box and £800 pounds delivered from the Internet.
Very cheap power and if it breaks bin it and drop in another unit.

Can't argue with that! You shouldn't have to remortgage the house to go racing in a Mini, I was talking with Will Dick about this at Oulton. His car is a real old school build and he had fun in the middle of the pack in both races without breaking it or the bank (well apart from tyres) as did Tim so it can be done but obviously you're unlikely to win anything. You just need to avoid shonky engine builders, which I've managed very successfully NOT to do for years.
