Bo'ness Hill Climb Revival Stand - 2nd/3rd September

Post by thefarmer »

Hi Everyone,

As some of you may already know, the annual Bo'ness hill climb is taking place this year on the 2nd and 3rd September. We normally have a display of minis present there for the Sunday (3rd September) and am looking (as the management are chasing us) to see if there is any interest for this year.

The location is approx 17 miles North West of Edinburgh, and is a great event with some very interesting cars taking part on the hill climb. If anyone is interested, and can make it (the cost is £6 per car) then please let me know and we can add you to the list.

Thanks,
Ben

I'd be interested in attending this, possibly along with one other car, but 100% on mine.

Kev was talking about having a stand at it, but I'm not sure if he got anything sorted. I suspect he's been too busy building 'my' moke :D

It's the weekend before Goodwood, so despite being on my doorstep, I suspect I'll only get along for the one day.

And I doubt I'll be in the A40.......

I'm planning to be there on the Sunday (spectating). On the Saturday I'll be walking across the new Queensferry Crossing (the new road Bridge over the Forth) as we were successful in the public ballot

All in all, not a bad weekend.

I'm working on that next week (the bridge not the hillclimb!), got some good pics of it looking across while we were working on the old one a fortnight ago :)

yeah, very lucky. Weirdly though, my folks didn't get a ticket, but then received an invite to the grand opening with the Queen, for them and 8 guests.

As they hadn't applied for that, just the walk, and you had to provide security details, we thought it was a scam - it was only at the last moment it turned out to be real!

Being pensioners, they are of course going. we can't as it's on a school day.

Anyway, back on topic, who's taking Pete's run up the hill?

Hi Al, I was at Bo'ness all day Saturday, weather kept dry and superb line-up of vehicles in the paddock.

Did you spot Angus Buchan's Mk5/SR Terrapin? This is the first one I have seen at Bo'ness, and this was also the first of the '2 seater' Terrapin's built specifically for Sports Racer hillclimb class. Apparently the gear change takes a bit of getting used to, but this is probably a feature of most rear-engined specials using the remote change box...

yup, was up there today. Chatted with Angus for a while, and admired the car. Lovely wee thing. (the car, not angus.... - though he's very nice too!)

Good to chat with Iain C, and his car sounded well.

Lots to see all day, and a great turn out of clubs.

enjoyed our first trip to Bo'ness last weekend, a nice event with something a bit different, thanks to Ben and Patricia for sorting the Cooper Register Stand where i was one of the 50% turnout, despite not being in a cooper or a member, as ever lots of attention from people seeing the car for the first time but to be honest as first time visitor we didn't spend much time with the car and left Paul with the Monte Carlo to fend off the questions!
