Not done a great deal lately, hoping to get stuck in over the next few weeks. Engine nearly finished, will post some pics soon, meanwhile a photo of it at the moment.

Re: The Orangebox Rally Car Rebuild!!
Just had Roy in for a brew with Dave Scaife (very quick Lakeland road rallyist), managed to get Roy to part with some cash a couple of months ago for a newer van !
Had a good ponder at your pics, looked suitably impressed with the car, says hes gonna keep popping in for updates Steve

Cheers Steve, planning on going to see Roy with it when it's finished, taking Jeff Smith his map man, with me.

Re: The Orangebox Rally Car Rebuild!!
Well trying to get the Orangebox finished ready for the MK1 Performance stand at the Manchester Classic car show. Engine and box went in last Friday, I can at last see that things are 'getting there'. Hope to have it on the road by the end of the month! A couple of pics from last week.

The OB is looking superb. Sadly I have had to give Pete backword on my place on the stand as my car won't be finished

Looking great Steve and some very nice touches, where did the inspiration for the dash and instrumentation come from - OB in its very early days perhaps? Niall.

Re: The Orangebox Rally Car Rebuild!!
Yep early OB Niall. Standard speedo, Speedpilot, oil and water, and I have always wanted a Weston rev counter. Roy never had a rev counter in it. The switch panel under the dash Jon Wood (Slowboy) did for me off a template he still had for the one he did for my 997 works replica years backcookie1071 wrote:Looking great Steve and some very nice touches, where did the inspiration for the dash and instrumentation come from - OB in its very early days perhaps?
