The trouble with spares prices being like this is you think shall I sell what ever X part I have as it frees off cash for other things, then you think what if the one I have in the car breaks in a years time and the price you have to pay to replace it has gone up by X Y or Z amount, would it actually cost you more money then you made by selling it in the long run

You know the drill, though. If you have a spare on the shelf, your original part will NEVER break. Isn't it always like that?

Of course, if you do sell the spare, it's nearly guaranteed that you'll need it about two weeks later.

Shame that after (should you do so) spending £950.00, the speedo will probably have to come part to change that pesky worn nylon odometer arm

Rim looks like it will come off easily though so that's a real bonus and therefore a potentially easy fix.

Very nice condition speedo though - just an observation about the odometer reading

A lot of differences between that Australian Clubman (external hinges, smaller doors, rear windows etc etc) and the UK versions aren't there .

I think there are less differences between that and a Mk2 Mini than an British Clubman. The lower dash is also very different and some have rear belts that have their top mounting in the centre of the rear parcel shelf.

Our clubman was essentially a plain old mk1 shell with Australian designed burst proof door locks/windows/pillars, a wider spaced left cancelling wiper panel/wiper mech and the clubman nose.
The single skin small reg plate boot lid remained since late 64 as did the standard back window from start to end in 1978.
All of them were Leyland Minis from 1971....no Morrises or Austins.

I reskinned a door once. Looked perfect..... couldn't get it to fit the aperture at all ...... sold it at an auto jumble

Now only use original doors.
