Re: Arden Equipe Replica
A few progress. I started withe the hydro, fuel and brake line. The rear subframe was quite straight forward. I was happy to see that the minilites look just the way i was hoping under those wide arches.
I had to fit the exhaust to to see how it looks and it's just perfect.
The subframe is mounted on poly bushes. The hydro arms are slightly lowered.
The antiroll bar is one of the very few non period item.

Re: Arden Equipe Replica
Can someone help me with that:
Shall i stay with the standard bump stops or ST bump stops or even with shortened ST bump stops if i lower the car? The front and rear units will be separated with garden taps on the hydro lines

Re: Arden Equipe Replica
...This was always a brilliant colour for a sporting mini.. though non factory standard it was years a head of its time as so many cars have this metallic blue type of finish these days.... look fine from the rear !!! foxy52anis wrote:I am looking forward to see it on it's wheels.

Thank you for the comments!

Anis, in case you need an idea for the rear hydro line lock-offs, here is what I did on my #68 racer:anis wrote:........ The front and rear units will be separated with garden taps on the hydro lines

Re: Arden Equipe Replica
Thank you Rachel, i already have this picture of your car in my collection, I managed to find thread adpaters and garden taps to fit in the engine bay.
But i wonder how you get that ride height on your car. I imagine you don't drive with lower pressure. What bump stops do you have?
I found the scale model on ebay

Re: Arden Equipe Replica
Anis,
Thanks for the ebay link.
What we did with the suspension was to cut down the extension where the knuckle joint presses in. We also added the rubber competition/rally progressive bump stops, and front Koni dampers. Part numbers for the bump stops: C-AJJ4007 & C-AJJ3313. We used standard pressure is as per the BMC manual. Handling was vastly improved by locking off the fluid transfer.

Re: Arden Equipe Replica
Before people start ordering models at £33, Atlas models are made in their 1000s and a quick search reveals cheaper ones out there. It is a fairly new release and I have yet to get one, maybe in 6 months when the market is flooded with them.

Also note the Mk1 Escort in this series is available for less than £10.
A few years ago Atlas did a reissue of the old Dinky Austin Countryman. These were changing hands for up to £30 when they first appeared, now you can buy them for £5.
PS Search "Atlas Touring Cars"

Re: Arden Equipe Replica
Thanks to Rich I corrected the rear anti-roll bar, which was pointing the wrong way.
Starting to work on the engine bay, I had to do a test to see how it looks with the engine in.
And Oh my God I love it!!!
