At The Auctions

Post by surfblue63 »

In the same vein as the Ebay thread here's a thread to look at what's coming up or just been sold at auction.

To kick off here's 3 motors that are coming up at the CCA Auction at the NEC Restoration show at the end of the month.

First up is an ex Jeff Beck Mainstrem Cooper. Will the previous ownership help with value?

http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/rov ... ooper-7467

Next up is a Mk2 Cooper that has been doing the rounds

http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/197 ... kii-cooper

And finally another Mk2 Cooper, this time an unfinished project

http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/196 ... ini-cooper

Full catalogue can be found here

Ford Escort cognoscenti would know immediately what you were referring to if you said ‘XOO 347F’.
One of the most famous racing Escorts of all time, the twin-cam Mk1 used in 1968 by the de facto works Ford team, Alan Mann Racing.
And now this red-and-gold masterpiece, still resplendent in the original AMR livery, is among the lots for Bonhams’ annual Members’ Meeting sale on Sunday, March 19th.
Serious Blue Oval lovers can expect to part with somewhere in the region of £200,000 - £250,000 for this 1.6-litre, 878kg red-and-gold racing icon, complete with paperwork from Essex County Council confirming its authenticity and Ford Motor Company history.

LHD 65 S

Is it finally happening - the big crash, queue article 50, sell sell sell... and a mk1 cooper may just finally fall into my financial reach...

being exported in ckd form and assembled in portugal wont do it any favours, and after all it is only a 'guide price' and should go for a fair bit more, just my opinion.

The fact it is still LHD might put a few off but SWVA's last Cooper S estimate was over £20k below the final selling price with commission.

There has been/is a lot of moody crap being advertised from the Iberian peninsular so caveat emptor.

Dont think so yet, drip fed supply of Cooper S's pushed prices up, now everyman and his dog are selling them at £40k puts a cap on the market.

Anglia Car Auction have a motley selection of Minis coming up on April 8th

http://www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/en/c ... april-2017

First up is this '65 Moke, or is it? I know very little about Mokes and how to distinguish a UK one from an overseas one. This one looks a bit iffy to me though.

http://www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/en/c ... mini-moke/

Next is a very late registered Mk2 850, or maybe it was used in another part of the UK prior to be registered.

http://www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/en/c ... rris-mini/

1975 GT that has had a new chassis number issued by the DVLA, so the estimate is far to high.

http://www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/en/c ... i-1275-gt/

Finally a Mk2 S. Not sure what's for sale here as the pictures do not show a complete car.

Registered 2nd October 1970, being a poverty spec 848 I suppose it could have been hanging around at a dealership for a while.

Works 1800 as driven in the 1970 World Cup Rally coming up for auction at Brightwells Bicester auction. Estimate of £22-24000 is a steal when compared with a Mini.

There's also an older restored MkII Hornet in the same sale.

The Works 1800 made a mid-estimate £23,500, so someone got a nice bit of history for a fair price.

At Brons Sandown sale next weeks is something that does not come up often, a '65 Moke originally supplied to the Rhodesian Fire Service. Estimate is £20-25,000. Is that what a good Moke is worth these days?

Brightwells have a couple of interesting cars in their next auction

First up is an optimistically estimated Mk2 S

and the other is a car with a more friendly estimate and an interesting rally history

With the amount of off-roading you do Rich I'm surprised you haven't got them on yours.
