not sure which one that is the last one I drove with that name went from Dundee to Inverness and boy it was good.

The problem is most roads go nw-se and you want to go West! A thirty second look at Google maps suggests up the a76 to Thornill, across to Moniave/Dalry down the Queens Way (A712) then the last bit of the 75 isnt too bad to cairnryan. But with all day you could maybe head up the 713 or loop south on the coastal road A811. to some extent it depends what roads the run comes down on, you would think they might try and include some of the interesting roads, I dont know, never having done the event before.

I have a route worked out for our miniclub tour that has some nice bits in

https://goo.gl/maps/PJh5tytYCW82

with all day you could also go up the a76 right over durisdeer pass then back through wanlockhead then down to thornhill as mentioned early.

Thanks Rich

Definately food for thought. I have a good road map for Scotland I'll bring with me and look up some of those good roads over breakfast on the Thursday as well. All depends on if there's snow or not lol

That's car packed and me packed ready for the off tomorrow. Looking forward to the trip over, and of course the whole event.
If anyone is spectating and you want to get a good vantage point near the start ramp keep an eye out for the Cream Cracker and get your camera ready. Would love a cracking photo on the ramp (and coming off it with the smoke and pyros going!! 8-) )

Dumfries to Dalbeatie, then follow the coast road to Kirkcudbright via Palnackie, Auchencairn and Dundrennan etc is a good section. further along the A75 will be plenty more similar roads, but I'm not as familiar with that section. I used to commute from Castle Douglas to Dundrennan every day, and C-D to Edinburgh each week. Used a lot of tyres!

Oh, and mind out for the cow shit on the corners. ahem, oops!

Enjoy the event,

Al
