Quantifying "how many" Weslake's are running is almost impossible.
Undoubtedly there are more under benches & on display than are running, but there are certainly more running than most people would appreciate.
I can think of about 7 or 8 off the top of my head & there are undoubtedly quite a few more that I don't know of.
Whichever way you look at it, they are a very sought after item & anyone who does own one should be very proud of it.

Re: New weslake heads
here http://www.racetech.homepage.eu/dies_un ... 26333.html (in German unfortunately) I found the information that Broadspeed build the Wooding race Minis. Helmut the guy who is in charge of the homepage had talked to Christian Schmarje and Leopold von Bayern (both drivers for Wooding) as well as to Richard Newton. And the guy who raced the Weslake heads I have in the 70s mentioned that Wooding used the same but converted to Keihin carbs...
but that got nothing to do with the new versions - sorry for all the OT.

Re: New weslake heads
Just to make things interesting, MED released some photos of a Weslake casting they're playing with.
Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

Re: New weslake heads
has anybody got a Weslake head under a bench they might want to part with by chance ?
What would you pay for a working head?

My old college lecturer mate worked for Broadspeed through the BMC period until the early 1970s when he joined BSA and was sill working on BMC products until he left, he hates Dagenham Dustbins with a vengeance, he is 85 now, I could ask, he might even have some notes
