Is there any difference between the rocker posts for smalbore and bigbore (smal vs. oval pad 'folded' rockers)? Or are they interchangeable? I hope for the latter, saves me a head gasket
Background: I installed a smalbore 'folded' rocker assembly (smal, round pads) to a 1275, assuming they were the same. Now that I found out how bad they sit on the valves, I want to change them over for the oval pad type rockers. But I'm not sure whether the offset for the rocker shaft is different between round & oval pad type rocker assemblies.
Situation now:

PS: I hope you get what I'm on about
You can't have too many cars. Just too little space...
As far as I am aware the 3 types of rocker post are;
Early alloy (850 only)
Sintered (most common by a mile)
Forged (Cooper S only)
As far as I a aware there are no dimensional differences worth noting, you can get spacers to move the rockers around on the shaft to align them as well as possible.
I know about the spacer trick (MiniSpres sells even a shim kit), but since I need to pull the shaft I'm it's not more wok to just chnage the rockers. And if it's true that the oval pad rockers give a wee little more lift...
