There was a load of 'em on Ebay a couple of months ago for £10.90, I think I've seen them on 80s/early 90s sprints as you say.

Check out this MK1 1128 Cooper S gearbox....... :o ....OK perhaps it's MK2 converted to rubber couplings.... :?

Tax free '64 850 for sale. Offers over £1.5k. No log book, but can be easily obtained on ebay.

Speedwell Bonnet/Boot badge was on fleabay until I sent an email to the seller indicating he is selling a fake badge. Starting price for a fake badge was 285 Pounds!

On the flip side, I was extremely lucky and I was able to purchase an Original NOS Speedwell badge off of fleabay US for a decent price. I am willing to trade the badge if someone is willing to swap a set of OEM Foglights for a MK1 MX5 with cables.
