Homologation papers for mini 850 prior to 1966

Post by Dearg1275 »

Does anyone know where I can find homologation papers for the Morris Mini-Minor, early 850 mini in other words? I have tried searching the MSA web site but it is like stirring treacle, nothing rises to the top. The 850 papers on this site are only relevant to the hydrolastic cars. I need those for the pre hydrolastic, rubber sprung era.

Thanks

The papers on here are those for the "new" Appendix J that replaced the previous one on 1.1.66. Everything required new papers on 1.1.66.
I assume you would need the original papers from 59/60 (that would have included an amendment for "Evolution in Production" of wet suspension in 64).
Some obscure papers have been found by those active on British Rally Forum, Historic Rally section. "Trucking Tel" seems to come up with quite a lot. I'll ask there.
I guess there has been no call for them in any recent years so no one else has looked. Have you tried the FIA site (that in theory lists all papers but in reality seems not so complete).
Out of interest, why do you need them? Is anyone running an 850 class anywhere today?

There is a guy in Sweden, running an app.K pre 1960 850.
The homo papers should be easy to find.

Yes it is those original 1959/60 papers I am chasing. Historic interest really. I was wondering what if anything was homologated to the 850s in Group 2. I know they were only on the planet, as far a competition goes, but briefly, but they did start it all.

There is now link to them (papers No.1047) on BRF, Historic Rally, Thread as per title of this one. Can't seem to link direct.

Homologation papers of course always need to be viewed alongside the relevant Appendix J freedoms (it is easier to google historic appendix j than to try and provide a direct link). 1961 is the earliest year on the FIA site. "Changes and additions authorised" for Gp1 and Gp2 are greater for the first than was the case much later on and less for the second than later.

Sorry I can't, the ones you sent me were worn out, so I threw them away...

I've got the 850 papers thanks to LKE. Send me your email address.

Has been re-posted by the helpful BRF responder, hopefully in a format that works.
Apart from production evolution the only items actually homologated as additions seem to be right hand tank and lsd (the latter very late in the life of these papers).

I'd be happy to host a full set of the early papers if anyone wants to send me a copy.
