Perhaps it's just the way I'm looking at the photos and my lack of bodywork talent, but the shell looked twisted to me, still if it lives again and someone's happy with it then it's all good

I agree with Mark. That shell doesn't look like there's a straight panel on it and it's moved out sideways in the middle. If the cage was straight and salvageable why don't they cut it out and keep it? I'm seeing scrap from those pictures.

Love the way it's advertised as a S though no logbook/V5. Interesting ....... so it's just a basic 850 shell.

The top dash rail looks kinked....
I've welded T45 cages and there is no movement in the tube, so if the cage has bent there is no way your getting it back to shape.
They have lost the advantage of the lighter T45 cage with all that filler on it!

This looks to be an early straight magic wand gear lever. Not a cooper as advertised.
Can't see the knob but it looks like '5' speed one.

Hmmm I hope this might be a 1071 / 997 stick but on reflection think it is Moggie Minor?smithyrc30 wrote:This looks to be an early straight magic wand gear lever. Not a cooper as advertised.

The joint configuration / size looks close, hard to determine from this image, plus the crank angle looks too much?
If its as simple as making a Moggie stick it straighter, this would be a neat trick

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
If it was a early Cooper stick it would have a bolt on flange to attach it, not the later round cup, plus as you say the angle is all wrong for a Mini
Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Before you all go heating, straightening, cutting and threading an 850 lever....there is a difference between the dimensions of the pivots at the bottom. Centers are shorter on the ccoper levers.
This could be a cooper lever....the owner may have been a really tall guy with seats set awaaaaaaaaaaaaay back...hence the bend ...can't explain the 850 clamp....
Tend to agree with another member...looks more like a Minor style.

I'm inclined to agree that it is probably Minor 1000 though taken from an unusual angle. The securing plate certainly looks Minor. There are 2 slightly different Minor 1000 gearlevers - one for the 948 car and another for the 1098 model. The distance between the "balls" at the bottom being slightly different.

It would seem to still be registered as a 1992 based on the sellers website?mini63 wrote:No expense spared to create a ringer of a car that never existed in the first place........
