They can't be genuine bids surely!? The top bidder's been ramping it up since the auction began so obviously wants to pay as much as possible. ;)

Wonder if it is the inclusion of the ears and tubing that sent them all giddy? Vent tubing is the same size as used on Morris Minors but does anyone know a current supplier for it? The Morris Minor Centre Bristol bought it in as a length and cut the lot up into the short MM lengths which are too short for Mk1 Minis. Not sure when they are going to get another supply in..

I sold an identical heater unit for a friend for similar money about 2 years ago on FeePay. It came from a car that had been scrapped many years back due to excessive corrosion. While complete, it was in worse condition than the one in the link above and everything needed to be refurbished including the textured finish and lettering. I was in contact with the buyer, a very friendly & agreeable guy, to make shipping arrangements and he told me he was nearing the end of a long-term, ground up, factory standard restoration on a 1965 Cooper S that had been a racing car in a prior life were that owner had stripped and thrown out all those interior bits to reduce 'excess weight'. Anyway, my buyer had simply tired of trying to find one locally (San Francisco bay area) and figured he'd just pay 'whatever it cost' so his restoration could move forward.

a full weld in cage and a shell that doesn't need much repair to make a cheap option for building a 'club level' hscc class d car

you could probably repair it in a month and be using it next year

a cheaper option than buying a half decent mk1 and putting a new floor in it and getting a cage done for it
should you wish, you can contact me on rich@minispares.com
