Firstly...........SPELL CHECK , secondly, looks more Mini / Cooper than S, thirdly, he has the 1071 motor and other stuff, but you have to buy it by separate negotiation

Regulator position is wrong, no servo, rocker cover breather wrong for early car. (Must be with other block)mk1coopers wrote:Firstly...........SPELL CHECK , secondly, looks more Mini / Cooper than S, thirdly, he has the 1071 motor and other stuff, but you have to buy it by separate negotiation
But hey, some of the numbers match. Not rivet counting, just saying.
Maybe the 'S' identikit for sale in the other ebay ad can actually add more than 6k+ to the value of a Cooper

That "1071 Cooper S" has got the big foot well pressings which makes it the mega rare 1960 model with the lights in the rear pockets. Bidding was up at £15K before the pics even went up!

In the additional pictures there's dates of September 61' on some of the items, no signs of servo holes in the inner wing.
Are there any genuine cars out there any more, I'm glad I'm not in the market for a car

Looks like he may have sold it though? I hope the owner checked the numbers out with Heritage first cos anyone could have their logbook changed to 'Cooper S' by DVLC in the good old days just by fitting a 1275 engine and S brakes! I hope the buyer realises also that he won't get a V5C until he has a complete car up and running. Hopefully not by nicking a donor car!gs.davies wrote:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/classic-mini- ... I've reported this one to DVSA. Tired of seeing ringing kits and ringed Minis about!

Definately a '60 shell! There's not many Mark, last couple on Ebay have been lemons like that one. I sold a peach of an original S earlier this year, wish I hadn't now!mk1coopers wrote:In the additional pictures there's dates of September 61' on some of the items, no signs of servo holes in the inner wing.

Why won't he get a V5C Pete? If that's a current V5C then surely a new one will just be issued to him.Pete wrote:Looks like he may have sold it though? Thought it looked like an old blue V5 in the photo?Andrew1967 wrote:Why won't he get a V5C Pete? Probably not taxed since the new red v5's, would still be issued new V5 with a change of ownership unfortunately.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
That's not what they told me recently. I was told when someone sends an old blue V5 in that they have to have the car inspected before a V5C is issued. Could be rubbish as it depends who picks the phone up at the other end with DVLA!

I think if it's on the computer it's alright! If it's not that's where it starts. Was straight blue for red swap if still going.. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/dvla ... ertificate

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
I sent a blue V5 off recently & was issued a new V5C by return.
No need for inspection etc.

I'm sure it will depend on who you talk to & maybe what the vehicle is.
