Running again this year, now with support from the RAC, the event starts in Bournemouth and finishes in Chester three days later. One of the top historic rallies, and well over 100 crews entered. Lots of famous venues used this year with the likes of Shelsey Walsh , Porlock Hill, Chateau Impney etc. Paddy Hopkirk MBE will be flagging the cars off from the Saturday morning restart at the RAC headquarters in Bristol. More info here
I sincerely hope their on line blurb will not send people this year to test venues that then prove to be not open to the public - and that the organisers have the decency to apologise profusely if they do (instead of attempting to deny their own web site).

Never experienced that, as a competitor , marshal or spectator . I know this year they are trying to make it a spectator friendly event, in the past a lot of stuff is in MOD owned land and the emphasis is more in the paying competitor than the none paying spectator . Worth keeping up to date with their spectator info on the web page .

Err... that was the whole point of posting - to warn anyone thinking of turning out to watch to be aware that, in the past, their web site data has been totally misleading - and, when I pointed it out to their main man, he first sought to deny it then clammed up rather than apologise to those affected (I was not affected, as I am well aware of likely limitations on tests being open to view, but I encountered people who had been sent astray).
