I don't have much of a thing for A35s at all but the race should be quite exciting if the weather forecast turns out to be right!

Oil down already and I'm gobsmacked by the spread of talent. Some guys in single seaters are 29 secs a lap off the leaders times. Obviously they must have an important car, and I'm on my sofa, but still.
Or they're well connected in the right circles or they've paid their special fee ;)

Anyway, less of the cynicism here's the live stream :

I remember when I was 17 years old and the very proud owner of an A35 which had never been raced or rallied! BUT not for long! Happy days and memories.
James Dorlin is leading the Michelin UK Clio Cup after Anglesey race meeting. He couldn't score in the first couple of rounds this year as he wasn't seventeen!

Prize for racing car that looks least like a racing car must go to the Mallock U2, it's a fantastic thing!

If only F1 was half as thrilling to watch, didn't watch it all obvs but didn't see a single boring race.

By the way, in the Surtees celebration parade, why did they have a Mini on it?

I think that demo was classed as Goodwood Greats, so it was people and cars from the years it originally operated, they didn't have to have a connection to a driver, only that they raced there

We will have to see what they do next year, this years parade was fun to do, though not the same as when we were all down there for Mini 50, next year I think the Revival will have been running for longer than the circuit originally operated for and hopefully the Mini's will be back in the St Mary's :) , what 50 / 60 / 70th ect anniversaries are there next year ?, 1966 seems like it was a very good year !

Concorde's first flight took place December 12 1967....

Apollo 4 (first Saturn 5) flew unmanned on November 9th 1967.

Closer to home, the Aston Martin DBS went on sale, the first mk1 Escorts began coming off the line in Halewood, the Triumph TR5 began its short production run, the NSU Ro80 started production and the first truly collectable Japanese sports car the Toyota 2000GT featured in You Only Live Twice and began production.

As the event (in theory) is pre 66' I'm not sure how much later they will go with dates, it will be interesting to see what they come up with for 2017.

Also a quote -"just like Niki Lauda, Formula 1 Champions Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, John Surtees, Jochen Rindt, and James Hunt all gained their first racing experience in a classic Mini." :)
How many had experience of racing a A35?

Ferrari celebrates 70 years in 2017, no doubt Goodwood will have a race or two with a few Prancing Horses.
