Works Cars Steering Wheels
Photos of the Works Minis in 1966 show a deeply dished steering wheel that doesn't appear to be a Moto Lita. Any ideas on what they were? Cheers.

LBL 6D has a flat Mota Lita.

Well I have to point out that that is not the original wheel off 6D, like many other parts off many of the heritage museum exhibitsolddave wrote:LBL 6D has a flat Mota Lita.
Rant over!!
Depending on car, event's, driver and probably a host of other things the works cars used a variety of different steering wheels.
LBL 6D should have a black anodised wheel, that wheel appears dished?

Re: Works Cars Steering Wheels
Ronnie is of course correct.
Much is wrong or missing with the three Works car at Gaydon
The steering wheel Aaltonen used on the Monte was almost identical to this but black and just very slightly dished.
However, to my knowledge, that satin Motalita steering wheel has been on LBL6B since the late 1960's, when I first saw the car parked out the back at Abingdon in the parking lot, unkempt, damp and dirty.
I suspect that Aaltonen may well have been 'presented' with his steering wheel.
