BMC key flob....

Post by sandman »

Anyone here that has an original BMC key flob - you know the black plastic thingy which you can flip the key into...
If anyone here got a NOS item I would very much like to see a picture of it and specificly the "inside" /backside. I just boght some on ebay that were said to be NOS... but they look very new to me...

Please contact me via mail by clicking the mail button under my post. Thanks.
Cheers,

Hello, Thanks for the photos... but the ones I am looking for are made of plastic not leather.

A gripping bit of information - I also have an original black plastic BMC key fob, just like the one in STG's picture but instead of the letter "A" imbossed on the inside mine shows the letter "E".

Injection moulded plastic parts, like this keyfob, are numbered or lettered like this, when there are more than one room in the die.
That means there are made at least 5 keyfobs - A,B,C,D,E in one cyclus ( a cyclus is 1: injection of hot plastic 2: cooling 3:form opens and all 5 keyfobs are exhasted from the die )
If a series of fawlty cast keyfobs have the same letter, then the operator of the Injection mould-maschine can determine precisely which room in the die, which need attention.
