The Moke would be an interesting one to get a close look-over. Less than 500 Mokes were built or assembled in South Africa and the release to the public wasn't until late 1965. However, by that time Mokes had been made and sold mostly to the military and 10 or 15 very early ones had been built as prototypes. The chance that this Moke is truly a South African one is slim, but possible.

I don't think it's an Aussie Moke, all our from the first one had two wipers and the wiper motor is in the wrong location. I see that the radiator cowling that would be in the body is not there likewise for the LH top engine steady and a few other traits.

Could be, but I just don't think so. Certainly the dashboard, with that style of instrument panel and trays do look Aussie, though I'm not all that familiar with SA ones to say if it is one of theirs but at a 64 model, it would be very early for one of theirs, however, I tend to think it a little latter than that.

Unusual reason for a 1980's pick up to bear an older registration number. Nothing to do with avoiding paying road tax of course

Built from a 1968 Traveller base..... Must of been a very rare pre-production Traveller to be 1968, with rod change floor pan and rubber mounted subframe!

Although done right that could be a great 'in period' boy racer modded Mk1 of the '60/70's era.

The first thing that springs to mind is; how would you verify that the signatures are genuine? I would like to know that what I'm bidding on is the real deal before I decided to spend a potential shed load of money.

However if it is the real deal, it is very very nice.
