I think that was scheduled for the Allstars race. Yes it was THE John Cleland, Andrew and Mike Jordan etc. Some other notable names in the A35 Academy race in no small part to do with what's going on at the Goodwood Revival in a few months! ;)

Wonderful day yes.

Started off badly with a 2 hour queue on the M6 caused by an accident. The car was still by the roadside when I went by and it looked like it had been cubed it was that compressed.

In the race I came across an A35 rolling several times. The video footage is a bit on the striking side. It was John Cleland who rolled it into a ball but the safety stuff did all its work and he got out unscathed.

Despite a rather technical problem that prevented me from getting out on time in the practice It was fantastic day all round and the car performed well thanks Steve.

The new Minispares clubman s/c gear set actually was nicer to use than the Jack Knight dog gear set that I have been using up to now, despite not being able to be as good to brag about. Still running the Comma 20/50 running in oil too....

The clutch fluid seems to have cooked again as when I parked it up ready to receive my silly hat I couldn't select any gear. Does anyone else suffer from this problem? We have had it off and on . Thought we had cracked it using genuine AP slave but it's back again. Dot 5 fluid.

The vintage stuff is so amazing and stylish to see and hear up close. I was next to Duncan Pittaway in the paddock 8-)

A good meeting, despite the monster downpours, luckily me and Tim were having an early lunch when the worst of it hit.
An amazing amount of early machinery on and off the track. Plenty of celeb drivers about in those Flying Peanuts, and yes they will all be at Goodwood as one of the races will be a Peanut only affair at the Revival. I heard mention that just over 50 of them have been put together so far, so the grid should be full.
Anyway enough of me rambling here's some pictures of an Austin Seven Monoposto helping to keep the grass down at Lodge

Luckily the driver managed to keep away from the tyres and was able to return to the track unscathed.

That's absolutely excellent, badly baulked at that chicane though. Actually, why are there 2 chicanes on the run from the hairpin?

its to slow the cars down, otherwise they can get a real speed up the back straight

there was a massive accident quite a few years ago and the circuit was changed then

its a little complicated, but due to the way red flags have to be released and make their way round the track (i.e starting from race control) it can take quite a while to stop cars if there is a biggie

there is a good example of this on youtube of a very wet g.t race that was utter carnage - the sun was shining at race control, but it was raining on the back straight, I think every single car crashed at the second hairpin, by the time the red flag was shown 99% of the cars where wreaks!
