It certainly does Pete, especially the cut outs round the indicators / A panel slats, I seem to remember that French cars can 'loose' their number plates if they move around the country, so this could explain the plate change

I thought I recognised that car. It was modelled by the Spark company a couple of years ago.

Those models are good, looking at the pictures the bonnets on both the cars look the same, so is the car in RS6's picture a Walker GTS too?

If the photo of GJT was taken in 1967 as RS6 suggests I'd guess it's highly likely. So what's the script RS6 ?

Superb period pics.
Was it based on a brand new Mini back in 1967 with its E-registration?

The french sprint is the same with two different number.
It was first bought by a Uk man who lived in France, Paris (dpt 75) (named Patrick Perboom) in 66 and displayed at the Paris Racing car Show on Claude Ballot Léna stand (famous driver, Mini Marcos 66 driver...) The car was bought by Jean Lemordant (J.L.Marnat mechanic) in 1969 and he raced it during three years (the second number, dpt 92).
Pete, the color photo is in my book!
The car was stolen in 1972 in Lemordant's street and never heard since.

(Sorry for the language... I 'am working in the same time...Hurry...)

The Le Mans Marcos was stolen in Paris in 1975
(not right after the race, it's a mistake from Bagott book)
It was on display in 67 at April practice, 24 h Le Mans (next to the strange Hrubon car),
then raced 1000 km Paris 67 (Swietlik-Rives)
then Hillclimbs in Corsica in 68 with new owner,
then rally near Nice (a new owner who took off the big radiator, still owning it)
Back to Paris in 73 (still with big fuel tank)
Stolen Autumn 75.

All his races and stories in the french book about Racing Minis (not in sale in Holland?)

I am impressed by your knowledge.

Enguerrand,

I was waiting for your comments !!
But I still think that Lemordant's sprint exists you know where, I know you disagree, but still ...

Jeroen, you should ask Enguerrand (aka Pluto) a signed copy ;) ;) He knows a thing or two Minis sold in France, I must say.

Cheers, Etienne

I am ashamed I do not have the book, so immediately went over to amazon.fr to buy one on Enguerrand's advice.
Unfortunately the froggies do not ship it over to here.

If anyone out here has a spare copy for a normal price, let me know.
