Great deduction Guy....thank you, that all makes sence. Any current info./ photos on EBL 55C would be of interest from anyone.
Thanks

Perhaps I should have asked this is a different ( new ? ) thread, ' photos of Ex Works cars ', aimed at post Abingdon pics, so as not to divert this thread from the original topic ?

We have just taken GRX 309D to Bingley, and have been given a prime spot by the BMC ( Thanks Dave H ). Looking forward to tomorrow, although Ron is quite ill at the moment and has an Hospital appointment early in the morning. He really wants to make the re-union tomorrow and is going to call me to update his situation asap. Regards to Ron and Tuula, and hope to see them both tomorrow.
Will keep updated
Dave

Unfortunately Ron was too ill to make today. He was obviously missed and we all hope he is well soon.
It was great to re-unite Paddy with the car and again meet and talk to some very interesting people. At one point we had a conversation going between five owners of ex-works minis ! Thanks for the pics. Keith, I didn't take any this time so if anyone has any to upload they would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

Paddy wonders why getting trousers in that colour seemed like a good idea at the time.

Red trousers, black top, that's a BMC colour scheme. 8-) Shame the car was barely discussed, the interviewer didn't know anything about it and no mention of the 66 Monte whilst he had Paddy on the mic. Bit of a wasted opportunity! :?

Nice to see 'the boys' again today though and the car attracted a lot of attention, well done for getting it there and best wishes to Ron. :)

Dave,

This is me and Ronnie White at the Slieve Donard Car Show yesterday. Ronnie owns 6 ex-works cars and was a top rallycross / sprint / hillclimb driver and won the Irish championship 7 times and is a true gentleman :D :D :D

Pauls GRX 309D will be at Blyton for anyone wanting to see it for the last time before restoration work begins.

Really worth seeing in it's as found state.

I do hope that it will be a sympathetic restoration using original parts and finishes and not a high gloss/shiny nut and bolt one.
