Speaking from personal experience. Old SA12 & HA12 coils are far more reliable than the modern alternatives. I have found that even the hackiest looking one usually gives a good spark & I haven't had one fail yet.

Where as I have had numerous DLB12s & "Lucas Gold Sports Coils" let go.

Ah, I thought it was a more, in general comment on the specific model.

Why are some/old Brit licence plates worth so much?

( don't you hate how the computer tells you you've spelled licence wrong!! )

'Seven' on a 1963 car is wrong for starters. Unless it sat around in a showroom for a long time.

To be fair to the seller there have been a few restorables on Ebay of late that would probably entail a wrestle with the DVLA to recover an identity so auctions like this might well get round the problem if you are not bothered by providence. A least you get a few bits and bobs for your money even if the bonnet badge is suspect for the year!

It's complicated but essentially the lower the digit count the more they're worth generally speaking. Some form an owner's (or their kids etc) initials, or company initials, football club, type of car, favourite cheese  etc etc. Some are bought to stick on a modern car so they aren't so easy to date and look newer for longer! One thing's for sure , most of 'em are worth nowhere near what people think they are. Those that are altered to spell someone's name very badly are naff but some like this one for a drain company are pretty good...

Its a variation of the old favourite the "Exhaust Extractor".

Exhaust is encouraged to "move" in such a way a cyclone effect or in most cases a simple vacuum effect are created making exhaust gasses lever the engine faster supposedly improving performance.

Those are mine :) A few people here inquired but passed, so I figured I toss them up on fleaBay to see if Can get someone in Asia to overpay for them![/quote]

Anyone on the forum wants these, I'll do £225 + shipping (roughly $120 USD). PM me. To clarify, that 225 is per wheel :) I'm a nice guy but not that nice!!

Hi Ken,

PM'd back. Note the update. That's 225 per wheel. I'd practically be paying you to take them off my hands for both at that price!
