I wonder was the car prepared in the UK or Australia ,no hinges but sliding windows I never seen this one before great photo thanks for posting :)

The homologation was not changed for the first MK 3 race/rally cars, so they were still built to same spec as the MK 2 cars.

The rally 1275GT,s also had sliding windows.

They were alloy doors boot and bonnet. The car was prepared in the UK and shipped out to Australia.

So they were converted Oz doors to sliding glass? or were they MkIII doors converted? I'm confused.............Not hard I know......No that can't be right Oz cars never lost their hinges did they?.......now I'm really confused........

It is in a MK3 shell, so the Aussie doors won't fit, they are too short.

The doors are specials and are based on the MK3 internal hinge units but with the sliding windows from the earlier cars stuck in.

The picture is not too clear but you can see the extra bit of metal above the waistline on the door.

On a MK3 on door the window starts just above the waistline.
