Another Surf Blue '63

Post by surfblue63 »

Here's a few pics of my 1963 Austin Super Delux. After seaching for a Cooper, and not finding one I liked, I came across this and had to have it. It was in this condition when I purchased it just over 2 years ago from the third owner. The first owner had the car for 40 years and had looked after it very well. It has had some mild localised restoration but still retains all it's original panels, the front floors still have there tags on, and much of the original paint. The interior is original with the exception of the carpets. The front seats, I have been told, were covered by some Karobes covers (lost by the second owner), hence their condition and the headlining has the obligatory glue stains around the edge. I have racked up over 8,000 miles in the 2 years that I have had the car going to various shows and runs, some may have spotted it here and there. The only things that have needed replacing are the water pump (bearing failed) and an outer CV joint.

thats beautiful - its a well known fact that surf blue cars are the best!

my only question would be why are the master cylinders on back to front?

It is a fantastic looking car though! Surf Blue is by far the best colour. It would look very nice in my garage!

All the shots by the sea were taken at St Marys Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.
