Re: WORN 7 INCH DISC FLANGE
You're welcome Ian.... PM me if you require assistance when you embark on the project. As I said...they are still in use...this way you are using good quality hubs that are designed for the purpose.
Good luck.
Cheers

Re: WORN 7 INCH DISC FLANGE
There is a pair of knackered discs on eBay with drive flanges, maybe worth a try

I'm a little surprised by all this discussion.
The hard-chroming option is by far and away the most effective solution.

Re: WORN 7 INCH DISC FLANGE
Still trying to clean up around the shop. I had a 8.4 disc hub in my ball joint and bearing installation fixture. I tried a 8.4 drive flange and disc figuring I can machine the disc to anything I want smaller. The spacing is very wrong. next I tried a Cooper S drive flange with a new 7 inch disc. Spacing was not right for that combo either. Using a Cooper S flange and disc it looks like I cab turn disc to 7 inch dia. Face the out board side only to .300 thickness and open the groove in the calipers .040/.060 it would go together and work. I like the drum flange approach much better. Having crates of twin leading shoe take offs I should be able to find two good drum flanges they don't all come out good either. Maybe the real deal would be an adapter to mount the 998 caliper on a drum hub? Steve (CTR)

This thread was resurrected in Chris Millers recent querie regarding the non availability of 998 Cooper drive flanges. I suggest that every 998 Cooper owner download Dermott/360GTS instructions for converting drum flanges to Cooper spec.
Well done Dermott
Relatively simple job with a half decent lathe and good cutting tools.

As you said....hard steel....hard on the cutters. I went through a few till I figured out the right speed to cut at....after that...went pretty smoothly.
Cheers
