Sprinting in the 60s/70s.
A few pics of my Dad around 1970. Hopefully some kind soul (surf ?) may be able to tidy up the scruffy pic. and resize it to match the others, way beyond my talents!

It's sad that historic racing can't look like this anymore.

That's great thanks Stu, would you be able to remove the marks from the front wing by any chance?
Steve.

Steve.
If you have the originals send them to me and I'll scan them, fix any blemishes, and put them on a disc.

Ok Stu, I will get the damaged one from my sister in Ireland and send them all to you.
Here is a pic of my uncle, that Ron, (maguire mini) may recognise!

Crikey Steve, what a brilliant photo. , what year was this ?steve65 wrote:Ok Stu, I will get the damaged one from my sister in Ireland and send them all to you.

Your Uncle Malcolm and Bernie I recognize and the other chap looks familiar, did he share Bernie's car sometimes ?, Trevor ? Harwood ?
We had some good times sprinting, the Silverstone sprint series at the end of the year was always a highlight for us, although being at Silverstone for 5 weekends running in October and November could be quite challenging at times !!
I've added a couple of photo's of my brother's first competition Mini, note Goodyear Rally special tyres, they didn't know how to grip.

I always wondered what Three Dog Night did when they weren't in the studio.

Re: Sprinting in the 60s/70s.
Managed to sort some more photo's, (I don't know why they are coming out different sizes)
Sprinting was good fun and quite rewarding when you put a good run together, it would be nice to have more track time though, like the hillclimb's they have in Germany and Switzerland, but they are mega expensive with some fantastic cars, always fancied doing a road trip to spectate at a couple, one day perhaps.
