Always annoys when someone takes the trouble to restore an early car and then doesn't bother to get the leather bag and mallet out to make the two inserts required to convert a post '64 front to a full valance. The '59 at Beaulieu is the same. Not difficult really...

That is a beauty! ( I don't mind clubby fronts...the stripe helps a lot also )
Basically a Cooper S is it not? ( unlike the UK GT )

Yes, they used up the stocks of the Cooper S engine units on the GT. Not sure if they'd have any left by 1973?

Edit: The car for sale with number 1592 has a 1206 prefix engine, which means a solid tappet cover

1977 Mini Ima Rebuild:
http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/to ... a-rebuild/

The Mini IMA was based on the Mini Van, so retained the external door hinges, but technicians at British Leyland of Portugal designed a single rear door, hinged at the top, which is unique to this version of the Mini estate. The Mini IMA also featured more comfortable, clubman-style seats.
