60s Castle Combe

Hi I am looking for any pics or memory's from combe, my late father used to compete in a Downton mini. In years 66 to 68 he all so did sprints and hilclimbs. He was fairly quick his name is Vic Crapnell the car was built by Richard Longman While he was still at Downtons.

Hi Andrew , I have race programmes that feature Vince but not sure on pics, will have to have a rummage. happy to scan the programmes though. :)

Their was a few pics of him in the Autosport reports. But would love some good quality pics.
Got a few nice ones in his earlier cars (e type and 3.8 mk11) but just one of the mini on a hillclimb.

I see from your user name you must race in the best single seater racing in the world. It's gas how many of us FF men are into mini's as well! Do you race at the Walter Hayes Trophy in Silverstone or the Formula Ford Festival in Brands?

Hi,
Have not raced for 8 or 9 years. never did Walter Hayes all ways run out of money by the end of the season.
But your not wrong it is the best racing, but not cheap.
