Sold my 1071 AYA499B
After dealing with a bus load of messers i have sold my 1071. A change in circumstances, lack of time brought on the decision, plus i wanted to carry on rallying, 2011 is my 20th year in rallying and i was getting more and more worried about making a big mess of the 1070 if i got caught out.
A painfull decision it was sold on new year's eve, the consolation is i have my other project car near completion and fingers crossed will be out on Niall Cooks Northumberland Borders event in March.

Hope it gets looked after properly wherever it went - although I'm sure the new owner was vetted!
Can't wait to see the new beast, the secrecy is impressive!
Might see you on that event if we can get the time off work.

Smoke,
I am very pleased that you managed to find a new owner for AYA, I am only surprised how long it took you to do so!
It must have been a massive wrench selling it, but I know you have been looking forward to getting your new car finished for a while now. I can't wait to see it & you out and about.

I was lucky to actually see AYA on one of its days off at Mini Sport last year, an awesome car but as has been pointed out above I'd have been worried about smacking it up.
Looking forward to seeing your next project

Jees!
That is early.
Come on you historians, there can't be many Minis with Motoring news rally history pre 1964.

You might be suprised i have an entry list from 1962 with 18 997 coopers entered. The names Moss, Elford, Mayman, Seigle-morris and Harper appear in the entry list.

Wrong again, though i have seen this car recently, and it's a superb thing, full of rare bits A day's work would see it MOT'd. Restall's, works H4 carbs , original ST spats etc.

I saw it a few years back when I took my 'S' for its MOT...before they knocked Primrose Garage down. A real time warp.
