Tuners engine number/stampings

Post by Russsellmk1 »

Hi all,
I've been into minis for a while but have only last year got a mk1. I've been scouring the mk1 website since and am new to the forum.
I was wondering if these engine markings mean anything to anyone?
Might they be from a known tuner?
Looks like they perhaps only had letter stamps - the numbers are made from a chain of centre dots!
There is also a older smaller stamping beneath, maybe 13474?

Any info much appreciated,
Tom

Thanks,
I guess 1970/3 could be from March 1970. ABR though? Avonbar? Bill Richards?
Anyway, if it was common I'm sure someone would have said by now. I'll strip it down and see what I've got.
