lordy, that's the bare bones of a project
The Unipower, or what's left of it is a Mk2, bare bones of a rebuild a bit of understatement, there is very little of the original car there, no doors, door frames, chassis and undertray/floor, all suspension, dash, dash top, screen surround clocks, headlamp bowls, lenses, chrome trim etc. etc..

Although the parts in most come from other cars from the time, some of the parts are far from easy to find at a sensible price.

Would be interesting to know what car the chassis was used for?
After a couple of enquiries I have a strong suspicion (maybe you could comment Gary) that the frame and parts for this Unipower (what's left of it) on Ebay were used to build this one :

https://translate.google.co.uk/translat ... rev=search

Apparently the above car was built by Lenham Motor Company/CCK Racing as a historic racer but was never used. They were and still are based in Uckfield where the Ebay parts are located. I stand to be corrected on any of this (Daniel?)

The seller says:

"all I know is the car was built into a full race spec car with deep moulded airdam etc for a big wig in the city called Rupert who lost his job and neither he nor the car has resurfaced, this info was from the guy who did the moulding for him"

Hello Pete,
Have done a bit of digging and have found a few scraps of paper from a good number of years ago.

The car on the Old timer website, GEM 911G, as far as I know the chassis No. was UWF 1008, so therefore a pretty late car, one of the 15 or so UWF cars as opposed to the supposed 60 UPD cars.

The car was sold by the Lenham Motor company around the end of 1999, I was on the understanding that they did the 'restoration' of the car for a Rupert Knight, don't know about the banking connection but there is a connection with the name Rupert so could well be the same car?
I did speak to Peter Rix in August of 2000 about the car, and he sent me a couple of external shots of the car, no interior or engine details.

I was on the understanding that the car had substantial work done to the body but not aware of the replacement chassis, the GEM car does seem to have had some serious modifications to the chassis, body and interior. The Seats, dash, dash top, tank, master cylinders and a number of the chassis parts seem to be quite different from originals, however this may have been the choice of the owner in order to race the car, not sure on that front.

With the ebay car there is a terrific amount missing, in fact I would go as far as 80-85% is missing, and if these bits weren't used on the GEM car what happened to them?

However in times when cars were cheaper all sorts of things were done to them, as we have seen with 'normal cars' as opposed to the plastic fantastic variants.

For information I believe that the white race car HDH 800J, chassis UWF 1006 is now in Japan and in Gulf Colours and in the Maruyama collection unless that has moved on.

Hope that this is of some help.
Cheers

Interesting.... Must have been a decent offer then. I still think the chassis and parts went in to the yellow race car that CCK built that's now in Japan. Waiting for a reply from Daniel to confirm. (Dan?)

He has been selling restored wheels on ebay for a couple of years, all at extremely high prices. Looks like he is having a clear out, he sold masses of Les Leston bell mouths just before christmas.
