MK1 Cooper S voltage regulator.

Can someone help me out regarding a MK1 970 cooper S voltage regulator.
Because of its position,(rearwards towards the bulkhead), is it screwed straight into the inner flitch panel just using long self tapping screws
or is it attached to the panel with self tappers screwed into Nylon screw plugs, as per the Cooper/standard mini?
