It only take one unsuspecting punter to send a deposit , they have lifted loads of finished adds, and put them up at a fraction of what they are worth :x
I've reported it with ebay

I reported this and the other Cooper S to Ebay several hours ago and they are still listed.

Somebody on the Facebook Mk1 group reported being ripped off for £900 on an Orange Mk1 by a seller in Aberystwyth at the weekend. Sadly there's a lot of scamming bastards about. :(

Probably looks a bit like this and sounds a bit loud, especially when echoing off the pit wall at Goodwood.

Hate to be the baerer of bad news but the number on the tag relates to the LCB homologated for the 1275GT in 1977 and has nothing to do with the part it's attached to now....

Edit, just checked the main site and that page is missing from the document so here it is;

Not an exhaustpipe or silencer in sight in that form.

Jack,

Initially I thought the same as you, but then I checked & I realised that you have made a basic blunder

BMC / BL Part numbers rarely make sense. If you remember the part number for an AEA- 649 Cam is AEA-648, part numbers & catalogue numbers are always 1 step removed.

Therefore a C-AHT 289 (Race Exhaust Manifold - Large Bore) will be called a C-AHT 290

And presumably a C-AHT 290 (Race Exhaust System - Large Bore) will be called a C-AHT 291

If you look at the extract of the parts list above you will see this, "sort of" makes sense.

The "seller account" has 35 very cheap cars and caravans for sale all photographed at different locations but has never sold any vehicle before so you'd LIKE to think nobody will fall for it wouldn't yoy :? ??

I have reported to Ebay that I suspect 4 vehicles this seller has listed are fraudulent adverts. They are a red rally looking Cooper S, a green Cooper S, a green Healey Frogeye and a red Daimler SP250 Dart. These came to my attention when a friend asked me to look at the red Cooper S that he liked given how cheap it appeared to be. I reported these at 8 am this morning, why are they still listed?

Whilst I agree (as do others) that they look incredibly suspect, you can't expect ebay to pull the auctions just because someone 'suspects' they may be fraudulent - you might be someone who has a gripe against the seller.

The Mini van listed on that site is nowhere near as well restored as may be indicated - sold for circa £6700 last weekend. New floors but cover sills :? What the hell is going on with the brake pipes
On Monday I sent a nice email to the sellers about my observations and concerns about the braking circuits on this van.

Not an acknowledgement or 'Thanks, we'll check that out' or even a 'P*** off'. :?

Oh well, my conscience is clear.
