Mine is in the house but I'm not allowed to look at it until my birthday (29 Dec)

I'm hoping that this new book will spur on the release of the New Testament 8-)

Many thanks for that link PDB. It had not come up in my online searches.

Looks like my holiday present to 'self' has now been decided on. ;)

I've read the chapters on the Travellers today and there are a few minor omissions regarding the rear window catches and when the number plate lights changed from chrome to black.
Also the colour and trim tables needed some better proof reading as they have incorrect column titles.
There is mention of overseas built cars in Italy and South Africa, but despite a mention of the one piece rear door being rejected for assembly reasons there is no mention of the Portuguese IMA.

Other wise it is still a great book.

Dean,

Your car appears on page 50 (The Mk1 Saloons) (1962-1967) which are lovely photographs. I think there are about 20 other shots of your car in this chapter which I'm sure is your car.

Very nice car indeed, you will not be disappointed when you get hold of this excellent book :D

Dean,

I hope that your comment above is at least partially serious.

It's none of my business mate, but I would urge you not to sell UPR! I have sold many cars that I have no regrets about, but sometimes there is the odd sale that I will always look back on as a real duff move. If you sell UPR I feel certain that you will regret it forever. Just ask yourself where or when you will EVER find another car as beautiful & original as UPR. cars like that come up for sale very, very rarely & to buy one a good as UPR is for most of us a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I am sure you have very sensible reasons to think about selling UPR, but PLEASE! Have a long think & ask yourself "Will I regret this"?

As I say, none of my business, but I had to say something.

to be honest I would rather own your UPR (even though it is a lesser Austin model ( ), than a restored mk3 cooper s (if I was to choose only one of your 'fleet')

its just such a honest and original car, ive always had a bit of a soft spot for it

you just cannot beat originality and history, and I bet in years to come you will see the value of it climb
should you wish, you can contact me on rich@minispares.com

Dean,

Totally agree with what Nick, Mark and Rich say. I too would rather own your Mini SDL than a flat-pack built Mini Cooper S of any model. What I said before, this book will make people more aware that the non-Cooper Mini is actually much more uncommon now than Cooper S cars which have been preserved or replicated in great numbers in GB and across the world. I think your wee car is exceptional and in my view much nicer than an Mk1 Cooper S which over here are as common as muck.

Have gotten notice that my copy is in the post - looking very much forward to receiving it.

Dean, if your situation allows, I would also encourage you not to sell UPR as I think you would regret doing so immediately.

Well I have taken on board all you comments and I have decided to take UPR off the market. It just means my Cooper s will take a little/lot longer. thanks for all your comments.

Good call Dean!

OK, your S will take longer to complete, but it'll be done in the end & you will have (looking at it totally Mercenarily) two excellent investments in your garage & not just 1.

I have had my Speedwell car for 6 years now & it isn't getting much closer to being done. Time is not to critical on these cars, doing it right is.
