MK2 S
I have been pondering for a while whether to post or not,I have been a lurker for quite some time now, some of you will know me as TJW89's Dad,well earlier last month the boys had been doing some motorcycle parts for a local guy,he came in to collect the parts after they had been sprayed, and told the tale of someone local that he worked for 2 days a week ,and that he had a mini for sale,as normal it took ages to arrange contact details and then arrange viewing of the car, especially after seeing the first picture that we were sent via phone,we looked at it and thought is it or isn't it,well we viewed it and decided to take a punt on it,hoping, and still hoping it was what we thought it might be,Jens has seen pictures and thinks it is so here are some pics for you to have a look at and comment, the person that I bought it from ,purchase it in 1983 for his son,who used it for a year,it the went into the fathers ownership until me purchasing and has only done 30 miles in all those years,I met the father again at Sywell piston and Props in September ,he then said that it had a private plate on for a year, and that his son had removed the dash and centre console and sold it,as he did not like it,at the moment I am still awaiting the DVLA information on the car,I have had info from Gaydon giving build date and original colour
The first pic is the one we first saw
Bootlid lights frenched in bootlid
Reversing lights in rear valance
And the original colour when previous owners bought it,then they sprayed it Almond Green

Re: MK2 S
It's a shame it didn't come with much paperwork etc, or even some receipts. We are hoping someone could say it's W&P. Shame the son took the dash out and I think he has changed the steering wheel. Will try and get my Dad to put some more pictures up. The lights let in to the rear valance are a brilliant job and the wheel arches are done nicely too. I wondered if it had a rear wiper at some point due to the hole. Think it will one day go back to the brown colour, it has the trims for the top of the doors that need the rivets/clips going on. Nice job been done on the headlining and has twin interior lights.

Re: MK2 S
The way the rear seam meets the roof gutter leads me to think it's not W&P. I'll try and find some pics to illustrate. There were a lot of home made limo Minis throughout all years of production and this could be one of those? Are the rear pockets squared off?

Re: MK2 S
Finally received the information I asked for from the DVLA, The original registration was LLG 872G,and was owned by a guy on the Ark Royal, and he sold it on in 1977 to a Mr Crawford in Saltash,so I would be grateful if anyone has any info on the car or old pictures
Thanks
Chas

Re: MK2 S
Mr Crawford of Saltash would more than likely be a used car dealer who had a small garage on the outskirts of the town .

Well good news on two fronts,The DVLA have now re allocated the original reg number back to the car, and after a tip off from someone one the MCR forum I have managed to track down Mr Crawford,so I now know that W&P were not involved in any work on the car ,it was all done by Mr Crawford and his father,he has sent a picure of the car as it was when he sold it back in 1982
