Maniflow LCB Exhaust Manifolds

Post by ianh1968 »

I'm looking to get a new manifold...

C-AEG365 vs. C-AEG376
"Normal" vs. "Stage II with a larger centre pipe"

Has anybody used this version and can make a comment about
"Standard LCB" vs. "Stage II"?

Has anybody seen any figures to back up this statement for the "376" version?

On a previous engine spec 1380cc, 286 Scatter, 1.5, 1.463"/1.218", 11:1, HS6, Howley, K&N, etc
the LARGE bore that I had run for several years gave significantly LESS bottom end than
the medium that replaced it.

The engine has grown to 1480cc, with a 276 cam replacing the 286 Scatter...
... I don't want to take a step backwards with bottom end torque!

I would speak to maniflow themselves and see what he recommends for your setup/requirements, i've got the stage 3 lcb on my track, its a very tight fit but you can tell the difference, and it hasnt negatively affected low down power

Thanks! Just phoned Maniflow...

On the specification as above, the immediate response was that the Stage II would
be the way to go. From the conversation I was having, it also became quite clear that
a road car with about 100Bhp SHOULD NOT be running a large-bore LCB...

Correct. I built a road car with a 1000c Mini 7 motor and it was undriveable with the race LCB. Replaced it with a pretty crap £19.99 pattern LCB and it was transformed...no flat spots, easily pulled away from the lights under 2500rpm without me (or the wife) looking like a total prat.
